Michigan gamer accidentally calls 911 while on Fortnite. The whole police department showed up

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Michigan gamer accidentally called 911 while he was playing Fortnite, and the entire police department ended up at his house.

It happened around 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at a home on 20th Street in Summit Township.

Police said all active Jackson County Sheriff’s Office units were sent to the home for reports of a possible shooting.

When they arrived, police released that the caller’s phone had called 911 by accident.

The caller was playing the video game Fortnite, and there was no danger, according to authorities.

“All county units responded to 20th St, Summit Township, for reports of a possible shooting. Upon further investigation, it was found that the caller’s phone malfunctioned and called 911 while they were playing Fortnite. The residence was checked and showed no signs of a shooting.”
