Detroit Lions confirm DB Morice Norris has movement in all extremities, remains hospitalized overnight

Per the Detroit Lions’ official X account, defensive back Morice Norris has been listed in stable condition following his scary on-field injury in the fourth quarter of the Atlanta Falcons’ pre-season Week 2 matchup.

The Lions said on Friday (Aug. 8) that Norris had feeling and movement in all of his extremities and that he would remain at a local hospital for observation.

Deandre Booker has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder, tampering with evidence, disinterment or mutilation of a dead body and concealing the death of an individual in connection with the murder of Elkins.

Attorney accused of trying to smuggle drugs to inmate in Michigan prison

An attorney is under investigation after smuggling contraband items, including Suboxone, to their client at Central Michigan Correctional Facility on Monday.

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, the attorney was seen passing a package to their client, who is currently incarcerated, on Aug. 4, 2025, during a visit.

Police said all active Jackson County Sheriff’s Office units were sent to the home for reports of a possible shooting.

After sunshine and warmer temperatures to end the week on Friday, we will continue that trend of summer heat and humidity looking ahead into the upcoming weekend.

The dry weather sticks around looking ahead into the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Mostly sunny skies can be expected both days. High temperatures heading into the lower 90s on Saturday, then the low to mid 90s by the time we get to the end of the weekend on Sunday.
