Family mourns man killed trying to break up fight at Detroit pool party

Police are searching for a suspect after a deadly stabbing spree at a pool party on the city’s east side Saturday night.

Investigators say the attacker stabbed four people near the intersection of Seven Mile Road and Fleming Street, killing a man and a woman.

Neighbors say the house where the party took place is known for hosting parties.

Fire union in Macomb Township warns about staffing shortages following house fire

A local union representing Macomb Township firefighters is speaking out about a lack of full-time staff within the department after a house fire over the weekend.

The fire fully engulfed a home on Balmoral Drive Saturday afternoon, displacing the homeowners.

Andy Saucedo, the secretary of Macomb Township Professional Firefighters Local 5023, says only eight full-time firefighters were on duty at the time of the fire and just two firefighters were on the first engine that arrived.

SUV rear-ends Amish buggy in Michigan, hospitalizing 6

An SUV crashed into an Amish buggy on Michigan’s west side Friday night, sending six people to the hospital.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. Aug. 8 in Bloomingdale Township, about 10 miles west of Kalamazoo.

Weather: Hot, humid start to the week with spotty storm chances

Did you feel like you were melting this weekend? Well, that weather isn’t moving out quite yet.

Hot and humid conditions continue today through Tuesday with highs in the low 90s and heating indices in the mid-90s. We will see plenty of sunshine, but there is also the potential for showers and non-severe thunderstorms from mid-afternoon into the evening hours today.
