ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – A man riding his bike was found dead after being struck by a vehicle in St. Clair County.

The incident occurred on Monday (Aug. 18) around 3:30 a.m. on M-29 near Martindale Court.

Police said Central Dispatch received a call reporting a man and a bicycle were lying in the roadway, appearing to have been hit by a vehicle.

Deputies arrived on the scene along with Marine City Area Fire Authority and TriHospital EMS.

Police confirmed the man, identified as 34-year-old Thomas Israel of St. Clair, was deceased.

St. Clair County detectives are investigating and working to identify the suspect vehicle involved in the crash.
