The things teachers actually want to tell parents

Local 4’s Rhonda Walker assembled a diverse panel of WDIV Teacher Insiders representing districts from across Metro Detroit who collectively teach all ages and asked the question: “What do you want parents to know before the start of school so their kids can have a successful school year in your classroom?”

The top answers were preparation, sleep, attendance, trust and the importance of communication between teachers and parents early, often, respectfully and with an open mind.
