Cracker Barrel is making waves with its latest rebranding effort, which includes a significant change to its iconic logo.

The Southern-inspired dining chain has decided to drop the familiar barrel and man from its logo, opting for a design more closely tied to the barrel shape itself.

This move is part of a broader $700 million transformation plan aimed at modernizing the brand and attracting new customers.

The logo change is accompanied by new TV commercials, a redesigned menu, and several fall-themed food items.

CEO Julie Felss Masino emphasized the importance of staying relevant, noting that updates to communication, menu offerings, and store aesthetics were identified as key opportunities for growth.

However, the changes have not been universally welcomed. Some loyal fans have expressed dissatisfaction, viewing the rebranding as a departure from the chain’s traditional roots.

Social media reactions have been mixed, with some users lamenting the loss of cultural elements they associate with Cracker Barrel.

The chain has also been remodeling its 660-plus restaurants, removing country-themed trinkets and lightening up interiors to create a more modern feel.

While some patrons appreciate the updates, others miss the familiar, rustic charm.

In a statement, the company said, “anchored in Cracker Barrel’s signature gold and brown tones, the updated visuals will appear across menus and marketing collateral, including the fifth evolution of the brand’s logo, which is now rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all."
