Video: Coast Guard helicopter airlifts patient from freighter on Lake Superior

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Dramatic video captured a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter airlifting someone off a large freighter on Lake Superior.

According to authorities, a MH-60 Seahawk was sent from Traverse City on Monday, Sept. 1, to assist with someone suffering from a medical emergency.

The MH-60 helicopter crew transported the patient to Sanderson Airfield in Sault Ste Marie, where emergency medical personnel were waiting.
