‘I stabbed him. Is he OK?’: What to know about Eastpointe McDonald’s worker’s previous stabbing case

The Eastpointe McDonald’s worker accused of killing her manager was also charged in connection with a stabbing in 2022.

Afeni Badu Muhammad, 27, of Eastpointe, has been charged with first-degree murder, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and being a habitual offender, second offense, in connection with the death of 39-year-old Jennifer Harris.

Powerball jackpot jumps to $1.7 billion after another night without a big winner

The Powerball jackpot has jumped to an eye-popping $1.7 billion, after yet another drawing passed without a big winner Wednesday.

The numbers selected were: 3, 16, 29, 61 and 69, with the Powerball number being 22.

Since May 31, there have been 41 straight drawings without a big winner.

‘Demented behavior’: Monroe County family doctor arrested in child exploitation sting

A Monroe County family practice doctor was arrested after reportedly seeking a sexual relationship with a 5-year-old girl.

According to authorities, Dr. William J. Murdoch began chatting online in June with someone he believed was a mother willing to allow her 5-year-old daughter to engage in a sexual relationship with him. The “mother” was actually a Port St. Lucie police detective in Florida.

All ramp metering signals on I-96 Flex Route now in use -- Here’s how they work

All ramp metering signals along the I-96 Flex Route went into effect on Wednesday.

Since June, eight entrance ramps to I-96 have already implemented ramp metering on the freeway. But starting on Sept. 3, all entrance ramps to the flex route will have the ramp metering signals in use.
