Texts with mom, checklist reveal Michigan man’s plot to kidnap 4-year-old from Canada, feds say
A Michigan man is accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy from Windsor, Canada, and attempting to kidnap him, officials said.
The man, identified as Shahzad Hameedi, 46, allegedly met the boy’s mother online on a dating app.
After the assault, Hameedi fled Windsor and crossed the border back into Michigan, where he was later located at his home by members of the U.S. Marshals Service.

General Motors facility in Warren closed after Legionnaires’ disease found among employees
General Motors’ engineering center in Warren is closed after two workers tested positive for Legionnaires’ disease.
In a letter to employees shared with Local 4 on Thursday (Sept. 11), Macomb County informed General Motors of the positive tests late Wednesday.
And while the center has not been confirmed as the source, it will stay closed until at least Sept. 22 while tests are done.
