Michigan students can show off their civic skills in a new round of the National Civics Bee.
It’s a competition that will test out students’ civics skills, and it will range from 2025 to 2026.

The competition is open to 6th to 8th graders in public, private, or charter schools or those being home-schooled. They start by writing an essay to get into the contest. That essay must be submitted by Feb. 3, 2026.
If selected, there will be a series of local competitions, and then winning students can move to the state and national finals.
