Metro Detroit residents must start using 10-digit dialing next month. Here’s what to know

Metro Detroit residents will soon be required to dial 10 digits for phone calls.

Starting on Oct. 7, all local calls made within the 313 area code must be placed using 10 digits. This includes the area code and the seven-digit phone number.

Alcohol, sexual comments, conflicts -- a deep dive into accusations against Michigan judge

A complaint was filed against a Michigan judge, accusing him of inappropriate conduct and abuse of power.

Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wilson is accused of being drunk in public, making multiple sexual remarks towards his coworkers, being involved in numerous conflicts of interest and delaying court cases.

Officials find remains they believe are Travis Decker, wanted in killings of his 3 young daughters

Authorities say they have found remains they believe are Travis Decker, an ex-soldier wanted in the deaths of his three daughters, in the mountains of Washington state.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Thursday that it was processing the site with the help of the Washington State Patrol crime scene response team. They will follow up with DNA analysis, it said.

Ann Arbor police arrest suspect involved in University of Michigan campus stabbing

Police have arrested Lagarien Thomas, 33, who stabbed a victim at a construction site on the campus of the University of Michigan.

University of Michigan Police Deputy Chief and PIO Melissa Overton told Local 4, after our newscast went off the air, that the suspect was arrested via email.

The University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) issued an emergency alert to the campus community at 6:20 p.m. following a stabbing near Catherine Street and Zina Pitcher Place.

Weather: Slightly cooler, still above average in Metro Detroit -- What to know about upcoming rain chances

Waking up this morning on a milder note due to the overnight clouds keeping warmth at the surface. Yesterday’s cold front brought an isolated pocket of heavy rain to portions of Wayne County, but flooding concerns lifted last night and we will remain dry today.

Slightly cooler today in the wake of the front as highs will be in the upper 70s, close to 80.
