MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A woman has died after being stabbed at a gas station in Macomb County Sunday afternoon, and police said her ex-husband was arrested in connection with her murder.
It happened at a Meijer gas station on Hall Road near Hayes Road just before 5 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2025.
Police said it started when the woman and her ex-husband, both from Utica, got into an altercation inside the gas station. This led to the stabbing.
The man then ran away from the scene. Deputies from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office chased after the man. He was later arrested by officers from the Armada Village Police Department.
According to Armada police, the man needed medical attention due to an injury on his hand.
A 1-year-old child was left behind at the gas station, according to the mother of the man in custody.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Shelby Township police said charges are pending against the man.
