Aerial footage shows pickup used by attacker, burned remains of Grand Blanc Township church

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Aerial footage from the day after an attack at a Grand Blanc Township church shows the pickup truck used by the attacker and the charred remains of the building.

Four people were killed and eight others were injured on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, when a 40-year-old man from Burton drove his pickup truck into the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township and then opened fire with an assault rifle, according to police.

Officials said the man also lit the church on fire as he left. He was confronted by law enforcement officers in the parking lot and killed after the attack, for a total of five deaths.

Aerial footage from Monday afternoon showed authorities searching through the burned remains of the church building.

You can also see the damaged silver pickup truck, which is adorned with two American flags in the bed and covered in bricks. There’s a ram bar on the front of the pickup, and the hood is heavily damaged.

The images inside the building show the steeple’s skeleton, several pews, and mostly unidentifiable debris.
