SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Family and friends of Fatme “Stella” Davis are remembering the 23-year-old who was killed in Shelby Township.
“Stella has touched a lot of lives. She’s done a lot for the community,” said Stella’s brother, Saif Mahmoud.
“Everyone here, we did this for her. We loved her like family. We would do anything to have her back here,” said Stella’s friend, Robbyn Seal.
Mahmoud is probably taking her death the worst, holding the tears back as he spoke to us about his sister.
“I’m just trying my best to make sure that there’s awareness raised in this situation so justice is served at the end of that day,” Mahmoud added.
Investigators say Davis beat and stabbed Stella to death at a gas station in Shelby Township.
He was later captured in Armada Township.
Police say that the crime stemmed from an argument during the exchange of their 1-year-old son.
Now that 1-year-old essentially has to grow up without both parents, but Mahmoud says he’s going to be just fine.
“We are currently working towards adoption. I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that Elliott does get raised, knowing how amazing his mother was,” Mahmoud concluded.
Davis was denied bond. He’s due back in court on Oct. 7.
