MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A man is in the hospital after being shot by police early Monday morning, and an officer is recovering from minor injuries.

Authorities said the shooting happened at a police department on Gratiot Avenue in Roseville at around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.

What led to the shooting remains unclear.

Officials said the man shot by Roseville police is in critical condition. An officer involved in the shooting is also in the hospital for their minor injuries.

Aerial footage of the scene showed a knife near a car believed to be driven by the man, as well as papers and blood.
