Weather: Warm Tuesday transitions to fall chill in Metro Detroit

Southeast Michigan is starting Tuesday with comfortable temperatures and areas of patchy fog, particularly in the Irish Hills and near Lake Huron and Lake Erie. A dry cold front moving through the region will bring a shift in temperatures by Wednesday, setting the stage for a cooler stretch through the second half of the week.

People heading to work Tuesday morning will encounter temperatures in the upper-40s and lower-50s, with fog in some communities briefly dropping visibility below one mile. Drivers should allow extra time, slow down, and use low-beam headlights when navigating through foggy patches. The fog will dissipate before 10 a.m.
