CENTER LINE, Mich. – A 20-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving an SUV through a child’s bedroom.

It happened at about 3 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at a Center Line home near 10 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue.

A 9-year-old girl who was sleeping at the time was thrown from her bedroom and into the yard, suffering multiple serious injuries. A GoFundMe was set up to help with medical costs. You can donate here.

Police said the SUV missed hitting a 22-month-old baby girl in the home by four feet.

Caris Adell Wade is accused of crashing the vehicle through the home and running off on foot. She was taken into custody by a Warren police officer, who was in the area.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, Wade was charged with reckless driving causing serious injury and failure to stop at the scene of a crash.

Additional charges may be filed depending on the results of a toxicology test.

Wade’s bond was set at $200,000.
