‘Dangerously low staffing’: Grand Blanc Township fire chief put on leave amid staffing concerns

Not even a month after the horrific mass shooting and arson attack at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, an email from township leadership placing its fire chief on leave has firefighters and community members on edge.

Multiple sources tell Local 4 that staffing levels within the Grand Blanc Township Fire Department have become so dangerous that firefighters have simply gotten lucky — several times.

Michigan anesthesiologist pleads guilty to child porn charge -- here’s his likely prison sentence

A Michigan anesthesiologist has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of distribution of child pornography, and it is recommended he spend 151 to 188 months in prison.

Joel Michael Adelsberg, 36, who has practiced medicine since March 2016 and was affiliated with Anesthesia Associates of Ann Arbor (A4) and Trinity Health -- Ann Arbor Campus, admitted in federal court to distributing child sexual abuse material, according to prosecutors’ filings.

Birmingham businessman died after hiding money. Now they’re trying to find it for his victims

Earlier this year, a jury awarded $138 million to six women who accused a Birmingham business owner of sexual harassment and assault.

But the business owner, Gary Raykhinshteyn, recently died, and now attorneys are trying to locate the money he allegedly hid, so that the victims in this case can be paid.

18-year-old with gun shot by police during traffic stop on Detroit’s east side -- What we know

An 18-year-old is in critical condition after being shot by police on Detroit’s east side late Tuesday night.

The shooting happened on Oct. 21 just before 10 p.m. on E 7 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.

It will remain brisk with wind gusts between 20 to 30 mph. An isolated shower can’t be ruled out on Thursday. Otherwise, drier conditions return for the end of the week as we stay in the 50s.
