Port Huron woman facing charges after Detroit man killed in gas station shooting

PORT HURON, Mich. – A Port Huron woman is facing charges in connection with a deadly shooting that happened at a gas station last week, officials said.

The shooting happened at 4:31 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, at a gas station in the 1300 block of Military Street in Port Huron.

Multiple 911 callers reported the shooting, and when police arrived, they found a 30-year-old Detroit man with gunshot wounds.

They began providing medical aid until EMS arrived. The 30-year-old was then taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The suspect, Amber Oile, 36, of Port Huron, was taken into custody without incident.

Oile is facing open murder and felony firearm charges.

Oile’s probable cause conference is scheduled for Oct. 28, and her preliminary examination is scheduled for Nov. 4.

A probable cause conference is a procedural hearing where the prosecution and defense can discuss the case and set future dates.

At the preliminary examination, the judge will determine if there is enough evidence to send the case to a higher court, where the defendant could stand trial.
