Shelter in place lifted in Ann Arbor near Division after possible shots fired report

Division between Jefferson and Packard reopens

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ann Arbor residents and University of Michigan students were asked to avoid the area of Division between Jefferson and Packard Thursday morning due to a report of possible shots being fired.

A shelter-in-place order was issued in the area at around 8 a.m. on Oct. 23. It was lifted minutes later.

An emergency notification was sent out to Michigan students at 8:03 a.m.

Police closed off Division between Jefferson and Packard to investigate the report of shots being fired.

At 8:11 a.m., Ann Arbor police said Division was reopened and there was no evidence of a shooting.
