This planned increase is part of a staggered toll adjustment that began in 2024.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) said the hike will help offset rising maintenance and operations costs, as well as support construction improvements at the bridge plaza.

The upcoming increase follows 14 years without any toll rate changes for commuter and commercial vehicles.

The new toll rates, effective Dec. 1, will be:

  • Cars: $5
  • Each additional axle: $5
  • Trucks and buses: $5.25 per axle

Commuter EDGE Pass holders will continue to receive a $0.50 discount per crossing.
