2 more arrested in connection with attempted murder of Macomb County businessman

3 now charged in attempted murder of Eddie Jawad

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Two people were arrested on Saturday in connection with the attempted murder of a Macomb County businessman.

Rachard Huffman, 39, and Dawn Huffman, 44, both from Sterling Heights, were arrested on Nov. 1.

Eddie Jawad was targeted outside his mansion on Oct. 14 and was shot as he drove his SUV outside his garage. He was grazed in his right leg and struck in his left leg, and also suffered injuries from broken glass. He was released from the hospital later that same day.

Jasan Delanta Martin, the first suspect charged in connection with the case, received an additional charge of conspiracy to commit homicide.

Martin, 32, was already charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, carrying a weapon with an unlawful intent and three counts of felony firearm, in connection with the shooting. He was charged as a habitual offender.

Rachard was charged with conspiracy to commit homicide and conspiracy to commit embezzlement. His bond was set at $1,000,000.

Dawn was charged with embezzlement and conspiracy to commit embezzlement. Her bond was set at $500,000.
