Driver hits 2 teens on bike in Warren, stops at first, then flees at sound of sirens, police say

Teens treated for minor injuries; police search for suspect

WARREN, Mich. – Two teens on a bicycle were hit by a car in Warren, and police are searching for the suspect, who initially stopped to check on them, but then fled at the sound of sirens from emergency vehicles that were approaching.

At about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, two teen brothers were on a bicycle near Timken and MacArthur when a dark-colored Chevrolet Equinox hit them, according to a release from the Warren Police Department.

Both of the teens were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and have since been released.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the Equinox had stopped to check on the boys after the crash, but then left the area upon hearing sirens.

They told police that the driver, who allegedly has green hair, was the only occupant in the car.

The investigation is ongoing.
