Eastpointe McDonald’s worker accused of stabbing manager to death bound over

The worker accused of killing her manager at a McDonald’s in Eastpointe has been bound over to a higher court and could face trial.

Afeni Badu Muhammad, 27, of Eastpointe, who was charged in connection with the death of 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, appeared in court on Nov. 14 for a preliminary hearing.

At a preliminary hearing, evidence is presented, and a district court judge will determine whether there’s enough evidence to bind the defendant over to circuit court for trial or to dismiss the charges.

‘Pure evil’: Ferndale mom charged with murder in special needs girl’s death; family demands answers

The loved ones of a 14-year-old special needs girl, whose mother faces murder and child abuse charges, call the woman they once trusted to care for the teen “rotten” and “pure evil.”

The family of 14-year-old Kylee Clark said losing her has been unbearable, but the long wait for charges and the uncertainty surrounding what really happened have been even harder to bear.

They said they are desperate to uncover the truth about what happened to Kylee on July 7, 2025. The teen died five days later, on July 12, at Henry Ford St. John Hospital.

Man dies after being shot at unauthorized barbershop operation behind Detroit school, police say

A man died Friday after he was shot at an unauthorized barbershop in the back of a Detroit school, police said.

Police said the victim arrived at a local hospital around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 14, 2025, with a gunshot wound.

The driver who brought him to the hospital said the shooting happened at Charles Wright Academy of Arts and Science at 19299 Berg.

Gameday at Wrigley Field: Michigan football faces Northwestern for George Jewett Trophy

It’s gameday for the Michigan Wolverines as they’re taking on the Northwestern Wildcats at the historic Wrigley Field in the battle for the George Jewett Trophy.

The game marks the third meeting between the football programs for the rivalry trophy named after an African American player in Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) history.

Michigan won the inaugural trophy game in 2021 with a 33-7 victory and also won last year’s matchup 50-6. Both previous games were held at Michigan Stadium.

Weather: Rain showers and breezy winds to start the weekend in Metro Detroit

A strong cold front is moving through the region as we walk throughout the day, which will keep the chance of some rain showers through the afternoon and into the early evening hours tonight.

Breezy winds will be expected as well, expect wind, gust, and excess of 30 to 35 miles an hour.

High temperatures are well above average, into the mid-60s by Saturday afternoon.
