DETROIT – More than 40,000 people submitted ideas to Taco Bell for new items, and a Michigan man’s suggestion actually made it to the menu.
Taco Bell accepted submissions from fans for their new “Fan Style Menu.” This week, the winners were announced, and one of them came from a Michigan resident.

Brock, from Michigan, is credited with suggesting the “California Crunchwrap,” a play on the company’s Crunchwrap Supreme.
The California Crunchwrap subs in steak and adds seasoned fries and guacamole. It’s wrapped in the same grilled Crunchwrap shell.
“I can’t remember the first time I had a Crunchwrap, but it’s been my go-to for years,” Brock said in the release. “I kept seeing people in California add fries to their burritos, so one day I tried it in a Crunchwrap instead -- and it just worked. Now it’s my new Taco Bell staple, and I can’t wait for people everywhere to try it.”
Brock was one of three fans who had their ideas chosen by Taco Bell. Sandra from Missouri submitted the “Cantina Craze,” and Kajol from Kentucky submitted the “Burrito Bliss.”
The three items debuted nationwide on Thursday, but they’ll only be available exclusively through the app and in-restaurant kiosks for a limited time, Taco Bell said.
Brock, Sandra, and Kajol have been subbed “Fan Chefs.”
The Burrito Bliss is a vegetarian version of the Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito. The Cantina Craze is spin on the Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco with jalapeno sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.
