Michigan man to spend decades in jail for sexually exploiting, threatening 14-year-old girl

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A 33-year-old man from Kalamazoo has been sentenced for the sexual exploitation and coercion and enticement of a minor.

According to authorities, Samuel Alexander Kuhl contacted a 14-year-old girl on social media and for about a year and a half, he abused her physically, emotionally and psychologically.

Prosecutors said Kuhl tried to get the girl to engage in group sexual activity. When she refused, he threatened her and her family with a gun.

He also convinced her to give him child porn.

In June, a jury convicted Kuhl of sexual exploitation of a minor, coercion and enticement and attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.

He was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison on Thursday, Nov. 20.
