‘I told her everything’: Westland woman says psychiatric nurse exploited her crisis for money

A Westland woman says the psychiatric nurse practitioner she trusted to guide her through a mental-health crisis in Ann Arbor instead manipulated her into secretly loaning thousands of dollars, conduct that the state of Michigan now alleges violated multiple provisions of the Public Health Code.

Mary Carmichael, 46, said she first found Priscilla Jimenez, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, on PsychologyToday.com in February of 2023 while searching for help with her mental health.

The attorneys representing the self-proclaimed church leader accused of taking over the lives of his followers asked a judge in early November to reconsider a detention order requiring him to stay in custody while he awaits trial. Now, prosecutors are asking the judge to deny that request.

A judge denied David Taylor’s bond during a hearing in October, ruling that he should be kept in custody to limit his contact with church members as court proceedings continue.

The Great Lakes are the largest group of freshwater lakes on Earth by area and the second largest by volume. They are larger than most inland seas and are treated as such by the U.S. Geological Survey due to how they behave that way.

15-year-old charged as an adult after alleged Applebee’s carjacking in Roseville, police pursuit

Jeremiah Collins, 15, has been charged as an adult after allegedly carjacking a victim at Applebee’s before leading Roseville police on a pursuit.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced on Monday (Dec. 1) that Collins would receive felony charges stemming from the alleged carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of the restaurant.

Weather: Light accumulation leaves behind slick spots in Metro Detroit with more snow midweek
