1 Michigan restaurant makes list of top 50 steakhouses in North America

DETROIT – A new ranking of the best steakhouses in North America has been released, and just one restaurant in Michigan was named on the list.

The list comes from rankings put together by 101 Best Steak Restaurants, which releases global and regional lists of the best steakhouses each year.

The organization has two to four ambassadors evaluating steakhouses on five continents each year. These inspectors include awarded chefs, certified meat and Wagyu masters, food journalists and more.

They evaluate the restaurants based on nine criteria, including the quality of meat offered, variety of meat cuts, the service quality and staff’s expertise in meat, the wine list and more.

The one Michigan restaurant that earned a spot on the list was Prime + Proper in Detroit. It ranked at No. 20 on the list. To learn more about the popular Detroit and see its menu, click here.

Asador Bastian in Chicago took the No. 1 spot on the list, and Cote in New York City ranked at No. 2.

Twenty of the 50 restaurants listed are in New York City.
