Jasan Martin, 32, of Eastpointe, Rachard Huffman, 39, and Dawn Huffman, 44, both from Sterling Heights, were charged in connection with the attempted murder of Eddie Jawad. He owns several gas stations in Metro Detroit, was targeted outside of his Macomb Township home on Oct. 14, 2025.
A gunman emerged from behind a vehicle and fired shots at Jawad as he drove his SUV out of his garage, grazing his right leg and striking his left leg.

Dawn was the office manager for Jawad Investments when the shooting happened, and had worked for the company for over 22 years, officials said.
In her position, Dawn handled a business credit card that was supposed to be used to pay utilities at Jawad’s properties.
Prosecutors say Dawn used the card to embezzle more than $100,000.
She is accused of conspiring to silence Jawad after he noticed unusual activity on the card.
“The additional charge reflects the seriousness of the alleged conduct and is the direct result of diligent investigation and uncovering additional evidence,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to pursue the facts wherever they lead and to hold all responsible parties fully accountable.”
How the 3 suspects are connected
Martin was identified as the gunman, and on Oct. 19, 2025, he was the first person arrested in connection with this case.
He was initially charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, carrying a weapon with an unlawful intent and three counts of felony firearm, in connection with the shooting. He was also charged as a habitual offender.
Then, on Monday, Nov. 3, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Martin and his brother, Rachard Huffman, had been arraigned on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection with the case. Rachard was also charged with conspiracy to commit embezzlement.
In addition to being Martin’s brother, Rachard is Dawn’s husband and also worked for Jawad Investments. He worked for Jawad’s company for about two years.
