MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A driver was injured after a Jeep left the road and crashed into some trees in Macomb County, following an iPhone crash detection alert.

The crash occurred on Wednesday (Dec. 10) at 9:55 in Chesterfield Township, in the area of 21 Mile Road and Farwell Road, where police said they received a crash alert from an individual’s iPhone.

Police said they found a faint light in the bushes and heard a man’s voice.

Officers said they located the injured driver near the heavily damaged Jeep.

Police said the investigation revealed the driver was traveling eastbound on 21 Mile Road and missed a curve near Farwell Road.

Officials said the vehicle went off the roadway at a high rate of speed, crossed a ditch, and traveled about 150 feet into the brush, knocking down several large trees.

Police said the driver was transported to the hospital with injuries. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved or injured.
