BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. – A 47-year-old Michigan man was convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls and giving them methamphetamine, officials said.

On Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, a jury found Anthony Cuyler, 47, guilty of three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of delivery of methamphetamine to a minor, according to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office.

Cuyler is a Branch County resident who was extradited from Mexico in April 2024.

The Branch County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges against Cuyler in 2019 for sexually assaulting two girls, ages 11 and 12, and giving them methamphetamine.

Officials say Cuyler fled and then avoided authorities for years before he was found in Mexico and extradited to Branch County as part of Operation Survivor Justice.

The operation is a partnership between Nessel’s office, county prosecutors and the U.S. Marshals Service to find and apprehend fugitives with warrants for sexual assault.

“Cold case sexual assaults are among the most challenging to prosecute,” Nessel said. “I commend the victims, prosecutors from my office, and our Operation Survivor Justice partners – including the U.S. Marshals Service, for locating, apprehending, and extraditing Mr. Cuyler to face these charges and Branch County Prosecuting Attorney Stempien for his efforts that led to a significant conviction in this heinous case. My office will continue to leverage these partnerships to pursue justice for sexual assault survivors.”

Cuyler’s sentencing date hasn’t been scheduled yet.
