What Ford said about President Trump flipping off one of its workers in Detroit

Ford Motor Company issued a statement regarding President Donald Trump flipping off its workers during his visit to Detroit.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (Jan. 13) as a video captured Trump giving the middle finger to the Ford worker during his visit to a Ford plant in Dearborn.

Detroit couple hit with nearly $20K property tax bill after buying first home

A sliver of the American Dream is proving to be enormously costly for a pair of first-time home buyers.

A Detroit couple who recently bought a duplex in Midtown is confronting a staggering property tax bill that exceeds their down payment, spotlighting a growing challenge for homebuyers in the city.

Christa Hegedus and Steven Marsicano, originally from Tampa, Florida, purchased their duplex for $465,000 in November 2024. They planned to live in one unit and rent out the other.

As President Donald Trump visited Detroit on Jan. 13, the fiancée of Nicholas Acker, a 36-year-old U.S. Postal Service employee who died in a workplace accident last November, posted a heartfelt message on social media addressed to Trump about her fiancé’s sudden, horrific death.

Michigan Department of State, Jocelyn Benson, sued over alleged retaliation against Black employees

Four African American employees of the Michigan Department of State have filed a lawsuit in Wayne County Circuit Court, accusing the agency and several senior officials of a pattern and practice of race-based discrimination, retaliation for complaining about unfair treatment, and a racially hostile workplace.

The complaint, filed Saturday, Jan. 10, by attorney Leonard Mungo, names Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, the State of Michigan, and the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), along with Chief Operating Officer Jackie Venton, Chief of Staff Christina Anderson, Division Administrator John Strodtbeck, and labor-relations specialist Brittany Edwards.

Weather: Arctic tundra returns to Metro Detroit -- what to know about upcoming snow showers

Pockets of light drizzle and scattered rain showers to our northwest this morning will quickly transition to light snow showers as they move into our area and are expected to linger through the afternoon.

We are anticipating accumulations between a dusting to a half inch for most of Metro Detroit, with isolated amounts near 1 inch in our northern communities. However, a Winter Storm Watch goes into effect for eastern Huron and northeastern Sanilac counties starting at 3PM through Thursday morning due to the potential for persistent lake effect bands that could produce 5-7″ of snow close to the shoreline.
