Police arrest 6 involved in Shelby Township prostitution, human trafficking ring

Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety, with no 10% option, for all six individuals

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office has charged six people who were involved in a prostitution and human trafficking ring.

The six individuals were charged on Friday (Jan. 16) in Shelby Township at 41A District Court on charges of prostitution and transporting a person, a felony punishable by up to 20 years.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office identified the defendants as:

  • James Jones, 24, of Toledo, Ohio
  • Antonio Morrow, 25, of Detroit
  • Austin Seder, 21, of St. Clair Shores
  • Jacob Ducharme, 39, of Ira Township
  • Alan Lewis, 33, of Detroit
  • Tangelia Smith, 26, of Southfield

Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety, with no 10% option, for all six individuals.

All remain lodged at the Macomb County Jail pending further proceedings.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
