DETROIT – It’s the end of a decade for a local favorite in Detroit.
Kuzzo’s Chicken and Waffles located on Livernois just north of Seven Mile is closing after 11 years. The eatery was known for its chicken and waffles, sides of macaroni and cheese and collard greens.

The announcement was made on Kuzzo’s Instagram page stating “Detroit — It’s been real,” and hinting at a new venture.
“After 11 incredible years of serving the Detroit community, we’re closing this chapter of Kuzzo’s Chicken and Waffles with full hearts,” the post read.
The post read, “while it’s bittersweet, we’re excited to move our family and brand toward new ventures and new possibilities.”
The post hinted at something new in the works and thanks Detroit for believing in them and making the journey unforgettable. “This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you soon,” the post read.
Former NFL cornerback and Detroiter Ron Bartell, who played for the Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams opened Kuzzo’s Chicken & Waffles in January 2015.
