Man extradited from Texas to Michigan over Warren drug deal double-murder

WARREN, Mich. – A 36-year-old man from Illinois has been arrested for the murder of two Ohio men in Warren.

It happened in December 2024 at a house on Michael Avenue, about halfway between Eight Mile and Nine Mile roads.

Police believe Jourdan Armstrong planned an armed robbery at the house, where marijuana was reportedly sold. During the robbery, 24-year-old Trey Bennett and 36-year-old Andrew McHenry were both shot to death.

According to authorities, Armstrong orchestrated the drug deal and was the one who initially pulled out a gun during the robbery.

Armstrong was taken into custody in Texas and recently extradited to Michigan, where he was charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, possession of a firearm and two counts of felony murder.

He was denied bond and remanded to the Macomb County Jail.

Armstrong’s next court date is March 3.
