The U.S. defeated Canada 2-1 in overtime to capture the men’s hockey gold medal, marking a historic win for the team.
Michigan athlete Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal in overtime to secure the country’s third Olympic men’s hockey title, 46 years to the day of the “Miracle on Ice,” which helped clinch the last gold medal won by the United States men’s hockey team in 1980.
