Michigan man accused of forcing cousin to drive to Florida at knifepoint

STERLING, Mich. – A 21-year-old man from the Upper Peninsula has been arrested after reportedly kidnapping his cousin.

According to authorities, a 21-year-old man from Hulbert called 911 just after 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, from a gas station in Sterling, roughly 30 miles north of Bay City. He told police he had been drinking with his cousin and that the cousin forced him to drive to Florida at knifepoint.

The victim told police that he had waited for his cousin to fall asleep before calling police.

Kamen Honeysette, also from Hulbert, was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment. He remains lodged at the Arenac County Jail.
