Married couple, multiple dogs killed in Fenton Township housefire

Authorities investigate cause of deadly blaze

FENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A house fire in Fenton Township left two people dead and multiple dogs killed.

According to authorities, first responders reached the scene within minutes of a 911 call early Thursday, Feb. 26, stating the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Fire crews from multiple nearby areas assisted in fighting the blaze.

The victims were identified as a married couple, 66-year-old Ray Drzewiecki and 64-year-old Beverly Drzewiecki. Both were transported to the Genesee County Medical Examiner’s Office as investigators work to determine the cause of the fire.

The scene remained active Friday, Feb. 27, as crews continued to investigate the fire.
