How man falling on bus in Washtenaw County led to gun, drug bust, per feds

A suspected intoxicated man falling on a bus in Ypsilanti Township led to a gun and drug bust, court documents say.

Calvin Fuqua, 57, is facing federal charges of felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

According to a criminal complaint unsealed on Feb. 27, deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of E Forest Avenue and Campbell Avenue in Ypsilanti Township on Feb. 20 for a report of a man, believed to be intoxicated, who had fallen on the bus.

Deadly tornadoes rip through SW Michigan -- what we know

At least four tornadoes touched down in Southwest Michigan on Friday.

Four people died and 12 were injured, making this the deadliest storm since 1980.

Union City was hit the hardest by an EF3 twister. Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency for Branch, Cass and St. Joseph counties.

Crews working to restore water main break in Oakland County

Crews are making progress to get water flowing again in Walled Lake and Novi. This comes after a massive water main break that happened on 14 Mile Road at Verona on Saturday, flooding neighborhoods, submerging cars and forcing evacuations.

The Great Lakes Water Authority said crews removed the damaged section and are installing a new pipe piece, which is expected to be finished on Monday, March 9.

Weather: Warmth, sunshine kick off week in Metro Detroit before storm threat

Southeast Michigan is getting a preview of spring to start the week, with sunshine and unusually warm temperatures arriving Monday.

High temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 60s across Metro Detroit, more than 20 degrees above the average high of 43 degrees for March 9. The warmth will approach record territory, though it is expected to stay below the record high of 71 degrees set in 2016.
