A 26-year-old man and his uncle won a $200,000 Powerball prize on a ticket they shared, lottery officials said.

Bill Miller, who moved to Michigan recently to live with his uncle, 60-year-old Kevin Edmond, and his aunt, said he picked up their winning Powerball ticket on his way to work one night.

“I recently moved to Michigan for work and have been staying with my aunt and uncle,” Miller told Michigan Lottery officials. “In December, when the Powerball jackpot was getting huge, my aunt left a note out suggesting we buy a ticket, so I grabbed one on my way to work.

“I work nights, so the night of the drawing I was awake and checked the ticket around 3 a.m. As I was looking the ticket over and realizing what we had won, I went numb. I checked the ticket a few more times and just sat and waited for my aunt and uncle to wake up not believing what had happened was real,” the lucky player said.

The duo, who make up the Bill Miller Lottery Club, matched four white balls and the Powerball in the drawing on Dec. 15, 2025, (23-35-59-63-68, PB: 02), to win a $50,000 prize.

That prize was multiplied to $200,000 because of the Power Play that was added to the ticket.

Michigan Lottery officials said their winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K gas station at 8069 22 Mile Road in Shelby Township.

They also said Miller and Edmond plan to save their prize money.

“Winning is an unbelievable feeling,” said Miller. “It’s really hard to explain, but the best way I can put it is it’s like having the best dream you’ve ever had and waiting to wake up to see if it’s real.”

Powerball plays are $2 each, and a Power Play can be added to any play for $1.

The Power Play can multiply non-jackpot prizes up to 10 times (to a maximum of $2 million), according to lottery officials.

Then, for another $1 per play, people can add a Double Play to their tickets, which gives them a second chance to win up to $10 million in the Double Play drawing.
