MT. CLEMENS, Mich. – Three men have been bound over trial on a charge of conducting a criminal enterprise in connection to a series of auto theft crimes, including the alleged theft of infotainment systems from Dodge Ram trucks, according to Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The charge carries the potential of a 20-year penalty.

Alante Smith, 27, and Bernard Woodward, 23, are both from Detroit. Brandon Redd, 26, is from Roseville.

The preliminary examination began on March 16 and concluded on March 18. Following the preliminary hearing, St. Clair Shores 40th District Court Judge Joseph Craigen Oster bound the men over to circuit court as charged.

Redd, Smith, and Woodward will be arraigned at the Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens on March 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

Prosecutors alleged that since early 2025, the three men were responsible for more than 30 thefts of Dodge Ram infotainment centers, along with other auto theft-related crimes across Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties.

The Macomb Auto Theft Squad, along with the St. Clair Shores Police Department, the Eastpointe Police Department, and the Oakland County Auto Theft Taskforce identified and arrested the three men.

“This case stands as a clear example of the results that come from thorough, methodical police work. After a diligent investigation, law enforcement successfully dismantled a criminal enterprise that targeted vehicle infotainment systems—crimes that not only inconvenienced victims but eroded the sense of safety across our community,” Lucido said.
