Update: According to a social media post from LaGuardia Airport, the airport reopened as expected at 2 p.m., but travelers were warned that they still may face delays.

More than 500 flights heading into or out of LaGuardia were canceled on Monday after the crash, with dozens of other flights being delayed, according to FlightAware.com.

According to the Associated Press, LaGuardia is the New York region’s third busiest hub, and this comes as the airport is already facing disruptions due to the partial government shutdown.

Delta Air Lines, the airport’s largest carrier, said it will automatically rebook affected customers to the next best itinerary, and customers can make any additional changes via the app or website.

“The hearts and thoughts of the entire Delta Air Lines family are with all those affected,” the airline said Monday morning. “Delta is working to reaccommodate all customers who are booked to fly into or out of LGA during the closure. Customers whose flights are impacted will be notified by Delta.”
