Police said the first unit arrived on scene at 6:27 p.m.

Officials said initial responding units experienced a brief delay due to a train blocking the route, but upon arrival, fire crews found a single-family residence with an attached garage well involved.

Firefighters said they initiated fire suppression efforts and brought the fire under control around 6:38 p.m.

Poice said the fire was believed to have originated in or around the garage or an adjacent shed area.

However, officials said the exact origin and cause remain under investigation.

Direct fire damage was limited to the attached garage and the north wall of the residence. The interior of the home sustained smoke and water damage.

Crews said they were able to stop the fire before it spread into the living room.

Firefighters said they remained on scene conducting overhaul and ensuring complete extinguishment until approximately 8:10 p.m.

The occupants were displaced by the fire.

The American Red Cross was offered, but declined, officials said.

Police said there were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
