MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A teen has died after being hit by a car while he was working on a semi-truck on I-696 Monday evening.
A 19-year-old roadside mechanic was working on a semi-truck parked on the right shoulder of eastbound I-696 at the Mound Road exit ramp at around 10:45 p.m. on March 23 when he was struck by a car. He died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 60-year-old woman, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said alcohol or drugs were not a suspected factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
