Man arrested at Warren Public Library allegedly planned to meet 13-year-old for sexual encounter

WARREN, Mich. – A 33-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl in Warren for a sexual encounter.

According to authorities, Ernest Howell was arrested Wednesday, April 1, at the Warren Public Library after police received a tip that he was going to meet with a child for a sexual encounter.

It reportedly had been planned over text.

On Thursday, April 2, Howell was charged with child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime and accosting a child for immoral purposes.

His bond was set at $150,000.
