MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Four teenagers have been charged following a police chase that ended on the campus of Macomb Community College.

Police said the vehicle entered the Macomb Community College campus on 12 Mile Road, where the teens, ages 17, 16, and 15, fled on foot and ignored officers’ commands to stop, according to authorities.

Investigators allege the 16-year-old was driving the vehicle, with three passengers ages 15, 16, and 17.

On Tuesday, April 7, the 16-year-old driver waived a preliminary examination.

Police said the juvenile is charged with third-degree fleeing and eluding a police officer, receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer, and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

The fleeing and eluding and stolen vehicle charges each carry a potential penalty of up to five years, while the assaulting/resisting/obstructing charge is punishable by up to two years.

The licensing charge is a 90-day misdemeanor.

The 16-year-old was released on a personal bond and placed on house arrest.

Conditions include no driving and no contact with co-defendants.

A hearing is scheduled for April 21 at Macomb County Juvenile Court.

The three other teens face charges of assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer, a felony punishable by up to two years, per police.

No court proceedings have been held for them as of Wednesday, April 8.

Authorities have not released the teenagers’ names due to their ages.
