WARREN, Mich. – A man and two cats were found dead after a single-room house fire in Warren.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (April 7) when the Warren Fire Department responded at about 8 p.m. to a reported residential fire in the 7000 block of Republic.

Upon arrival, crews said they observed smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story, single-family home.
Firefighters said they entered the residence to search for occupants and located an approximately 50-year-old man in an upstairs bedroom.
Crews said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two cats were also found deceased inside the home.
A thorough search confirmed no other individuals were inside, officials said.
Fire crews said they quickly extinguished the blaze, which remained contained to the room where it originated.
Warren police and fire investigators responded to the scene and have launched an investigation.
No additional information has been released.
