The SET SEG Foundation has awarded two graduating high school students in the southeast Michigan region Skilled Trades Scholarship.

This year, 20 Michigan public school students statewide were selected to receive $1,000 toward their continued education in the skilled trades.

· Jenna Bois – Aviation Maintenance, Howell

· Emma Moore – Nursing/EMT, Lenox Township

The SET SEG foundation has a goal to support Michigan public school students in pursuit of advanced learning opportunities in the skilled trades.

The foundation says their mission stems from the shortage Michigan faces in skilled trade workers.

They are seeking to bring back these career paths by supporting students in their professional pursuits through the scholarship.

“We know that by investing in students entering the trades, we are making an impact on the state of Michigan and bolstering support and interest in these career paths.”” says Molly Mellema, Executive Director of the SET SEG Foundation.
