Man shot, killed at auto parts yard on Detroit's west side

Shooting happened at Ryan's Auto Parts on Hubbell Avenue

DETROIT – A 26-year-old man was shot and killed at an auto parts yard store on Detroit's west side, police said.

It happened about 4:20 p.m. Saturday at Ryan's Auto Parts in the 9300 block of Hubbell Avenue.

Police said the man was shot multiple times in the parking lot.

A customer who tried to avoid the gunfire took off in his vehicle and accidentally ran over the victim after he was shot, police said.

Police are asking for help in identifying the man seen in surveillance footage, who is sought in connection with the deadly shooting. The man wore a black, hooded jacket, light gray pants and shoes.

Police said he possibly escaped in a gold Oldsmobile or Alero.
