State police: Mark Luke White found dead from self-inflicted gun shot as police enter Southfield condo

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Michigan State Police say a known Southfield pimp, that had over a dozen women working for him, shot and killed himself Tuesday.

Mark Luke White was found dead from a self-inflicted gun shot as police entered a condo at 5000 Town Center in Southfield.

State troopers working with Southfield police, through the FBI's Southeast Michigan Crimes Against Children Task Force (SEMCAC), were at the condo to execute a search warrant for White.

Once inside, officers heard a gun shot from the bedroom area where White was found dead, say police.

The Task Force was investigating White after a woman told police she was held against her will and forced to perform sex acts.

Police call White a known pimp and say he had several women working for him. White has a previous conviction for a sex trafficking crime from 2006. He served a 37 month sentence in that case.

SEMCAC was established in 2007 to investigate the exploitations of children and prostitution in Southeast Michigan.

The task force also investigates child abductions, child pornography and sex trafficking cases.

The task force consists of members from the FBI, Michigan State Police, Wayne County Sheriff, Detroit Police, Southfield Police, Roseville Police and Highland Park Police.
